During art class, children start off learning the six universal lines in which all artwork is composed in some sort of combination.  Warm-ups and exercises in drawing, games and stories are key to this learning process.  Various artists with their specific styles will be introduced and explored. Practicing lines with new and fresh elements will build skill and encourage creativity.

Lesson by lesson, new ideas are introduced including horizon lines, perspective, vanishing point, light & shadow, color mixing & theory, composition and development of picture stories.

 

As the children learn about line and form, the continued practice will be a springboard to greater artistic self-expression and growth.
